A senior-level legal and business affairs expert, Laura oversees all business activities at every stage of a project — from acquisition to development, and from production to post-production legal and technical delivery — on hundreds of hours of scripted and unscripted series, MOWs, short and long-form documentaries, and animated series and features. Her most recent legal and business affairs credits include ‘Invincible’ (Amazon Prime), the independent feature ‘Longlegs’ (Nicolas Cage, NEON), the Stephen King adaptation ‘The Monkey’ (Theo James), ‘PSI Cops Animated’ (Adult Swim), ‘The Hollow’ (Netflix), and three seasons of the documentary series ‘Pets And Pickers’ (Discovery USA, Animal Planet). Laura is an expert in all matters relating to legal, financing, US and Canadian film unions, negotiating talent and financing contracts, Canadian tax credits, and working with domestic, US, and international broadcasters, distributors, and financiers. She also provides estimation and oversight on provincial and federal tax credits to maximize opportunities. Laura has served on various CMPA labour relations committees (ACTRA, UBCP, DGC, BC Council of Film Unions) and is a past advisor for the CMPA on business affairs for emerging producers.
